Q. Will other "tweaks" work with the Adjuster?

We do not support other tweaks, or recommend you install more than one tweaking application at any time.

Back to Index

Q. What does the Adjuster do?

The Adjuster gives you total control over all of your TCP/IP registry entries found in the Windows Operating System. You can save, load, and apply values.

Back to Index

Q. I cannot see the entire Adjuster screen, my desktop resolution is set lower than 800x600

This is a known bug that slipped on us during development (hey were human too). You can easily apply a CCS file w/o using the Adjuster which is a work-around.

Q. What do the menu options in the Adjuster do?

Under the file menu you can save, or open an CCS file. The options menu allows you to change your OS to your fitting, and allows you to show the paths to the registry keys. The registry menu will allow you to backup, and restore your registry for saftey purposes. The help menu will take you to the help section outlined by JonG.

Q. How do I tweak my Internet connection using CableNut?

We tried to make it as easy as possible to use the program, but some people may have trouble. Basically to tweak your connection all you need to do is load the correct CCS file. The CCS files can be found in the CableNut install folder labeled CCS. You can load the CCS files by either right clicking and going to "Apply CCS file", or opening the CCS file using the Adjuster, and then clicking the save to registry button. Please make sure to reboot your computer, everytime you change or load different settings.

Back to Index

Q. What CCS files do I need to use?

There is a simple naming scheme used with the CCS files. An example CCS file is "satellite_9x.ccs" Satellite tells you this file is meant for satellite connections, and 9x tells you that it is meant for Windows 95/98/ME. The 2K tag is used for the Windows 2000/and XP Operating Systems. Fast, and normal CCS files define how fast your connection is before-hand. We suggest you try both to see which one is more to your liking.

Back to Index

Q. Will Windows XP work with the Adjuster?

Yes Windows XP will work with the Adjuster, all of the CCS files tagged with the "2k" tag are to be used with Windows XP.

Back to Index

Q. Can you help me tweak my connection?

The forums are a dedication to our users. Please, if you have any issues try out our forums for support.

Back to Index

Q. Why does the CableNut CCS files only fill in a few values?

CableNut was meant to work with many varying configurations, and connections. Not all values are need to acheive fast results, but we like to leave all the options open not dis-regard them.

Back to Index

Q. How can I apply a CCS file w/o using the Adjuster?

Simply right click on your CCS file, and go to "Apply CCS File". This will apply all the settings found in that file to your OS.

Back to Index

Q. Can I make my own CCS files?

Sure when we originally developed the CCS files we wanted the user to be able to distribute, or even keep their own personal CCS file.
