SUSHI & STIR FRY NIGHT: GCF will be hosting a "make your own sushi and stir fry" event this Sunday, October 19, at 6:00pm at the home of Nick and Alane Johnson. Afterwards, we will have a pumpkin carving contest. All materials for the sushi, stir fry, and pumpkin carving will be provided, so come hungry and be creative! For directions to the Johnson home, go to www.student.ipfw.edu/gcf/gcfdirect.htm. Transportation also provided from Cole Commons departing at 4:30 PM. If you need a ride from elsewhere, call Nerissa at 260-348-8150.

CHICAGO BUS TRIP: two IPFW student organizations are co-sponsoring a chartered bus trip to Chicago to tour the Chicago Board of Trade and Federal Reserve Bank on Friday, October 24 (for time schedule, click here). Cost is $5 and approximately 40 students have signed up including more than 15 international students. Although the deadline to reserve a seat was today, there are still a few seats available. If you are interested in going on the trip, contact GCF Webmaster, Mike Slaubaugh, at 481-6465 or slaubau@ipfw.edu.

INTERNATIONAL WINTER HOUSEPARTY is coming December 27-January 2!! Join other international students from around the Midwest (and the Johnson family) for a week you'll never forget! Houseparty is at Cedar Campus in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We will enjoy a week of winter recreation, warm fires, good conversations and new friendships. The cabins and lodge rooms are warm and comfortable. Housing is assigned to fit the needs of families and individuals. Delicious meals are prepared for you and served family-style in our dining hall. Celebrate the holidays and learn about their Christian significance. We will also be sight seeing, enjoying hayrides, American home visits, a New Year's Eve party, and much more! Brochures and registration details will be coming soon. If you have no plans for the winter break (or even if you do!), make room for Winter Houseparty in your schedule.

Hope to see everyone for sushi and stir fry on Sunday night!
