GCF
CONVERSATION PARTNER PROGRAM

GCF sponsors the Conversation Partner Program. The purpose of the program is to help international students to develop proficiency in conversational English through fun, interactive, and informal meetings with an American student. The two students meet one hour a week, at a time suitable to both students, to practice English conversation, including pronunciation and learning American idioms, slang, and cliches.

Is there any cost involved?

The program is free, but you should be able to commit one hour a week to meet with an American student. There are no formal requirements for the program, except that you want to better your conversational English skills!

How do I enroll in the Conversation Partner Program?

Contact Mike Slaubaugh at (260) 481-6465 or slaubau@ipfw.edu. If you sign up by e-mail, please put "Conversation Partner Program" in the subject line and include the following information: name, address, phone number, the school you are attending, class (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student), your home country, and how many years you have been speaking English.
