Parenting
Education
Being "Mom" or "Dad" is an incredibly challenging,
yet rewarding title to carry. Contrary to popular belief, parenting
doesn't always come naturally to proud new parents. Your little
bundle of joy will require patience, calm, and an abundance of parenting
skills. It is to your advantage to get a jump on the arrival of your little one and prepare in every way you can.
Campus Hope can help. Just sign up for peer counseling with
one of our student advocates and explore a comprehensive parenting curriculum.
The lessons cover everything from bonding with your unborn child,
to child safety, to learning to discipline your child with love. As an added bonus, your personal advocate can become a support person for you as you go through your pregnancy and begin parenting your newborn.
“Earn While You Learn”
This easy-to-use program allows you to select from curriculum including prenatal care, your developing baby, going at
it alone, and other relevant parenting topics. As sessions are completed,
you will collect coupons redeemable for everything from a new crib
to diapers for your baby. Ask your advocate for details.
If you enjoy learning with a group, consider attending parenting
classes at A Hope Center Pregnancy and Relationship Resources. Classes meet Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30
PM at 3030 Lake Ave, Suite 20. Please call 422-3544 to register
for the current session.
The reward for your diligence will come in generous dividends as
your child grows. The safe, healthy environment you provide is the
basic ingredient toward fostering a well-adjusted child that blossoms
under your care. |
