Adoption is a very loving decision. This kind of love for your child means he or she will have a home of your choosing, where children are desperately wanted and will be cherished. Adoption gives you the opportunity to continue with your goals and dreams, knowing that your child is being nurtured in a home with two parents and the promise of a bright future. Although this decision is difficult, you can feel good about a choice that provides for both you and your baby.

Adoption has changed dramatically in the past 25 years. Adoption plans may be constructed specifically to address a variety of the birth mom’s emotional needs. Open adoptions allow for varying degrees of contact with children throughout their childhood. Closed adoptions still exist and are sometimes mutually desired by both parties due to special circumstances. The choice is yours. Hospital arrangements are also negotiable. If it would help you to “say goodbye” or obtain closure in the hospital, you may hold, name, and spend quality time with your baby. If your particular emotional bent requires a need to protect your heart by avoiding any bond with your child, you may have nurses care for your baby without ever holding him yourself. Again, the choice is yours.

Campus Hope is not an adoption agency. Our interest is in your needs alone as you examine your choices. We give adoption agency referrals when asked, but we will also help you navigate through the adoption decision-making process. If you make a decision to place for adoption, we have workbooks and other materials to help you through the rewarding process of making an adoption plan. If you decide to parent your child, we will support you with ongoing prenatal and parenting education, material assistance, emotional support, and community referrals.
