Accounting Society End of Year Banquet
Monday, May 7
Memorial Coliseum (the Blue Room)
5:30-7:30 PM

The Accounting Society EOY Banquet is fast approaching and we are hoping that as many students as possible are able to attend this great event to network with local accounting firms. Several firms will have multiple representatives there so you can truly get some one-on-one conversation time. In addition, please attend even if you are not planning on going into public accounting. The accounting firm representatives have a wealth of information about the local job market for accounting majors because their clients need to hire internal accountants as well.

For example, you could ask the following questions:

1) If a student does not start out in public accounting, what are some of the ways that student can climb up the corporate later of private accounting?

2) What type of qualities do your clients appear to look for when they are hiring internal accountants?

This can be of great value when you interview down the road for an internship or full-time position as well as just getting local professionals views on how to advance your career paths.

In addition, all attending Accounting Society members will be recognized with a certificate and scholarship awards will be presented.

Here are the key information regarding the event:

Date: Monday May 7th

Location: Memorial Coliseum (the Blue Room)

Time: networking begins at 5:30, dinner at 6:00 and awards at 7:00

Cost: $15

Where to sign up: With the secretary in the Department of Accounting or Finance (Neff 350). If she is not here for any reason, simply leave the money and your name with an accounting professor.

Can you bring a guest: Yes, simply pay an additional $15

By when should you be signed up: We really could use a headcount by this Wednesday (April 25th) but you can still sign up after that if something comes up.

Parking: Simply tell the gate attendant that you are going to the IPFW Accounting Society EOY Banquet (but please carpool if at all possible)
